These tater tots taste like sh*t!
Swearing is becoming a parenting “grey area,” according to this C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll. While 47% of parents say it’s never okay, nearly half believe it depends on the situation or the word.
One in four parents report their child swears at least occasionally. That number jumps to nearly 40% for teens. Parents say kids most often pick up profanity from friends and media, though many admit it also happens at home.
Experts note that swearing can signal emotional expression or frustration. When it happens, most parents respond by asking kids to stop or explaining expectations, rather than punishing.
And hey, according to CNN, chronic potty mouth might be a sign of higher intelligence.

💊 Even Europe isn’t worried about Tylenol
A systematic review of 43 studies found no link between acetaminophen (Tylenol) use during pregnancy and autism. This directly challenges recent public claims suggesting a connection. Medical experts emphasize that no study has shown a causal relationship, and major health organizations agree. Doctors also warn that discouraging acetaminophen use could push pregnant patients toward riskier alternatives or leave serious fevers untreated, increasing the risk of miscarriage and birth defects.

Nurse Jen Hamilton urges expecting parents to ask whether their hospital follows AWHONN safe staffing standards, which recommend that labor nurses care for no more than two patients at a time. She suggests asking early and getting answers from people who actually work on the unit. More here.

Are you the Food Parent?
A recent article from TODAY details just how exhausting being the "food parent" can be.
What does being the "food parent" entail? Well, it's more than just cooking dinner. It's planning meals, worrying about nutrition, packing lunches, managing picky eating, handing leftovers, and quietly wondering if you're doing everything "right." Basically, it's the person carrying the mental load.
For many families, that load falls disproportionately on Mom. And it’s heavy.
This week, rather than giving you a recipe, we are giving you ways to lighten that load.
Click here to read my guide on lightening the food parent mental load. It's a quick read, but filled with reflection prompts, language you can use to ask for help and mantras you may need (more than once).
