The end of RSV? FDA approves new single-injection treatment to protect young children from deadly virus.
The important bits:
Worldwide, RSV is the second-leading cause of death during the first year of a newborn's life, second only to malaria.
But thankfully, major relief might be on the way via a new drug called Beyfortus. The one-shot treatment contains an antibody that prevents the virus from spreading and infecting healthy cells. Three studies showed the drug reduced the risk of RSV between 70% and 75% among kids two years and younger.
Now that it has FDA approval, the drug's maker is hoping to hit the market this fall, although it still needs a CDC recommendation before it can become widely available.
What's it all mean?
Every year, nearly 100,000 kids under the age of five are hospitalized due to RSV. This new treatment could cut those hospitalizations in half. For more information on how RSV impacts young children, click here.

RECALLS
The adorable Cupkin 8oz and 12oz Insulated Stainless Steel Cups.
What happened?
Tamera Rubin aka “Lead Safe Mama” took to IG and literally tested the cups for lead herself. She published a full write up of her findings along with her IG video and suggested next steps that Cupkin should be taking if they claim to be as responsible as they are.
She also wants it to be noted that her website is not a blog. Lead Safe Mama, LLC is a business focused on environmental activism for childhood lead poisoning prevention and consumer goods safety. She explains that her own children have permanent brain damage and other disabilities from Lead poisoning, so now she is an advocate.
What should you do?
If you believe you have purchased a Cupkin Insulated Stainless Steel cup, then you should immediately go to their website’s recall page.
The founder, Max, created a video explaining the problem, as well as exactly which cups are affected and how to get a refund.
