Redfin just made home shopping way easier for parents
In the market for a new home? Or just curious about what's near your current address? Redfin just debuted a new Preschool & Daycare tool directly on its property listings.

Partnering with childcare marketplace Winnie, Redfin now displays nearby licensed daycares, preschools, and home-based programs within 10 miles of any for-sale home. Right alongside traditional K-12 school ratings, you can instantly view ages served, distance, hours, parent reviews, financial aid info, and real-time open slots.

Right now, the nifty new tool is only available on Redfin's website, but it'll go live on their mobile app in September. Meanwhile, we're hopeful they add another tool to see how close a potential home is to a Starbucks, Target and Costco.

🚲 Should parents be held responsible for kids' E-Bike crashes?
With pediatric e-bike injuries soaring, California prosecutors are filing child endangerment charges against parents. An Orange County dad was charged after helping his 12-year-old illegally boost his bike's speed before a crash, while a mother faces charges after her 14-year-old hit and killed a pedestrian. And in NYC, Mayor Mamdani is going directly after retailers with up to $2,000 fines.

💉 Should you really space out childhood vaccines?
A new executive order calls for spacing out childhood vaccines and splitting the MMR shot into three separate appointments. However, pediatricians warn this lacks scientific backing and could leave kids unprotected. Plus, doctors note a major catch: separate measles, mumps, and rubella shots aren't even available in the U.S. today. The AAP advises sticking to the standard schedule. Get the facts here.

Bites with Kiyah

I don’t think rotisserie chickens get enough credit. They’re one of the few grocery store shortcuts I happily pay for because they usually become three different meals in our house.

It isn’t just about saving money (although it does that, too). It’s about saving the mental energy of deciding what’s for dinner every single night.

Here's how it usually works:

Meal 1
Classic Chicken Dinner
Rotisserie chicken + roasted vegetables + fruit.
Nothing fancy.

Meal 2
BBQ Chicken Quesadillas
Mix shredded chicken (I use my bench scraper to make chopping a breeze) with barbecue sauce.
Add cheddar cheese.
Cook in tortillas until crispy.
Serve with sliced cucumbers or fruit.

Meal 3
Chicken Fried Rice
Leftover rice
Chicken
Frozen mixed vegetables
Scrambled egg
Soy sauce
Five ingredients.
Done.

(Or, if it’s cold outside, throw the last of the chicken into broth with carrots, celery, noodles, and you’ve got soup!)

What I’m Learning: The best shortcut is the one that gives you back time with your family.

Last week, we asked you which food item getting recalled would officially break your family, and ice cream managed to beat out coffee/creamer for the top spot, but it was a very close race. Let's hope neither happens!
