7 Signs Your Kid Is Spoiled
Can AI make parenting easier? 🤖
TOP OF MIND

Is your kid spoiled rotten?
Worried that your perfect angel is becoming a spoiled little munchkin? You're not alone. It's something most parents fear. In a small survey back in 2022, 60% of parents admitted their kid was spoiled at least a little bit, while 32% revealed their kids are spoiled rotten.
But how do you know if your kid is actually spoiled? And how do you know when it has become a problem? Let's help you figure it out.
The important bits
The experts have weighed in, and they've put together a list of signs to look out for when it comes to spoilage. You can click here to read them in full, but we'll do a little breakdown for you.
The most obvious sign? Telling them no results in a complete meltdown until they get their way.
They are almost never satisfied with what they have. They want more toys, more clothes, more games.
They genuinely believe the world revolves around them.
VERY DEMANDING!
They hate losing and don't handle it well.
They won't quit until they get what they want.
They refuse to do simple tasks or chores until you beg or bribe them.
Do any of those signs resonate with you? If so, you might need to change things up before your little munchkin becomes a little monster.
The good news is that since spoiled attitudes are learned, they can be unlearned! Experts recommend saying "no" without feeling any guilt, praise the right things, talk about gratitude, stretch waiting times, and focus on giving and not getting. You can read all about it here.

What's it all mean?
Spoiling your kid isn't the end of the world. We've all done it to some extent, but it's important to address the issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
You don't want your kid growing up to be that one person in the coffee shop who is berating the barista for putting the wrong milk in their latte.
If you're looking for more help in this area, we cannot recommend the book UnSelfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World enough. It's a great read.
DID YOU HEAR
🤖 Co-parenting with robots?
Have you ever considered using AI (artificial intelligence) to help you parent? This mom has, and she claims it's been saving her loads of time. She knows it may be looked down on, but she uses AI tools like ChatGPT and Breda to help her with how to speak to her child, making grocery lists, creating budgets, and more. Honestly, we're here for it! If it saves time, why not take advantage of it? Now we just need to develop a little robot that can answer all those, "but why?" questions.
🍬 Sugar and the city
Sarah Jessica Parker made headlines this past week after she went on a podcast and revealed her kids are allowed all the sugar they want. "In our house, we have cookies, we have cake, we have everything," she admitted. She says when she was a kid, her parents were very strict and didn't allow any sugar in the house, which led to her being obsessed with it when she grew up. She doesn't want her kids to have the same unhealthy relationship with food, but is her technique correct? Well, the answer is complicated.
🥱 The best way to help kids fall asleep?
Is bedtime a struggle in your household? We feel your pain. You've probably tried every trick in the book to get your kid to fall asleep, but some experts believe the more tricks you try, the more difficult it becomes. According to a recent study, the absolute best method is reading to your kids. Researchers found that other methods, such as walks and car rides, were associated with more behavioral problems.
🌳 Cannabis use during pregnancy might be a problem
A recent study of more than 220,000 people found that cannabis use during pregnancy was associated with their children having twice the risk of ADHD, autism and intellectual disabilities. Up to 5% of women in the US report using cannabis while pregnant, which makes it one of the most widely used recreational drugs during pregnancy.

RECALLS
Yikes! Procter & Gamble has announced a major recall of 8.2 million defective bags of Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods and Ariel Pods.
Apparently, they were made with faulty packaging, which can result in serious injuries to children.
The outer packaging designed to prevent access to the pods can split open near the zipper track, posing a risk of serious injury to children and other vulnerable populations if the contents of the laundry detergent packers are ingested, as well as posing a risk of skin or eye injuries.
You can check to see if your pods are impacted by looking at the lot codes here.
